Hubbers Just Love To Be Creative Don't They?

Hubber Innovated Features  On HubPages one thing we are in no short supply of is creativity and innovation! Hubbers are a fun breed of writer and we area always trying to invent a new way to "Hub". The mechanics of HubPages (I coined "HubTronics") allow for so much potential that I don't think we've even tapped the potential to 50% yet!

When I started out on HubPages I noticed right away that there were a lot of things you couldn't do in your HubPage such as change text colors, font, move a picture to the left of a block of text, and so on. I have always been inventive and learned to MacGyverize resources to generate a missing resource.

I started playing with the features that were there and realized that I could create different color text by using pictures to fool the site visitor into thinking it was created in the text capsule like the other text. I also realized that although you cannot put text to the right of a picture you could generate a picture with text in it using Photoshop and with the Picture capsule you could import it sizing it just right and insert the illusion of this being natural.

Although the problem with this is that the text in a picture won't count when Google crawls the page it will look pretty cool and by HubPages standards/limitations Unique. I eventually came up with a solution to the crawling problem. I would put the block of text into the caption of a picture (which is crawled by Google) or you could simply split the text up into the headers of the hub cleverly putting it in there either as several sentences, or fusing the words throughout the hub but maintaining sentences so it gets read in context. You'd essentially add a sentence within a paragraph  and fuse it into the context, its hidden in the open this way!

I wanted animated pictures so I used the slide show feature in the picture capsule and created a series of pictures that animated as it changed pictures. It wasn't exactly a movie sequence but with some creativity I made some interesting renditions of an animated gif!

All in all this hub was quite popular when it first came out and still is, but Hubbers continue to try to find something cleaver to do but are running out of ideas. I built this hub to document anything I could think of. I spend more time generating pictures for my hubs by fusing other pictures I find on Images.Google.Com, taking components of one picture and putting it in another and really waking my words up visually for the reader.

You can also use movies to get your point across. I used the matrix movie clips on YouTube to drive my philosophy hubs home for example. I also used the video capsule to provide page music that the visitor could turn on if they liked. This could be a video found on YouTube or Google video, or a movie file you upload to YouTube with a song embedded. You could put up to 10 minutes of music tracks on it to play while they read.

Other Ideas like expanding on my HubPages profile page by creating a hub that gives me full use of all the capsule technologies including the video capsule which could let you introduce yourself as a writer, and a person, show pictures of your journey in life, and even add music to the page while people read it.

It’s fun to run into a HubPage that does something fresh, a forum post that starts a new game, or a Hub that has pictures that truly stimulate you.

Back to the forum posts. Our community is always generating something fun like the HubMob game where by Ryan the Marketing Director of HubPages,  generates a topic and generates a request for a hub to be made and everyone participating writes a hub on that topic, then everyone posts the link to there hub in the special forum category and discusses it.

Just the other day a post was started (they call the collective folder of posts a “thread” because the posts are strung together like Christmas tree lights) in a thread designed to generate a positive thought stream. The post “TPAM – The Positive Reaction Thread” by Gamegirl was a hit eliciting a huge posting game between hub authors, all complementing one another (Click the link to read this thread).

Hubbers love to hang out in the forum and interact with one another. I for one love to find ways to get everyone involved in a project to help a lot of people reach their Hubber goals be it making money or getting traffic to their hubs or help figuring out how to do something on the site. This site is a perfect example of this. Most of the links on this site all lead to Hubbers hubs on the topic discusses.

This site is an innovative way to synergize all the HubPage related hubs for training into a  HubPage Blueprint. Although I lend my own insights and psychology of Hubbing, this site will be the efforts of all those wonderful hubs. If your not yet a HubPages author I suggest you click any link on this site (which will take you to HubPages and all you have to do is click the sign up box at the tip right. You can also sign up by clicking here to go directly to the sign up page.

I just initiated a game of "Hub-Tag" Let's see if it works.

It starts in a Hub comments box or a Forum Post. A subject is started (a thread if in the forum) then whoever posts first is "tagged" "it" and has to go to the thread posters hub (any hub related to the thread he was tagged in) and leave a comment. The thread starter is then it (you say your it in the comment) and writes a hub (the other person can change the topic in the comment box of the hub) based on the last persons comment subject. The first person to comment in this hub is It and continues the game

I look forward to your innovations and would love to add your ideas to this site. All you have to do is write a hub about it and email me with the link and a brief description of your contribution so I know where to put it on this site. The email address is here email us.
