How I found HubPages
When I first started off on HubPages I was curious about how to make money on the Internet. In fact I found HubPages while I was on craigslist looking for answers to some questions about how someone would go about making money using their writing skills. At the time I was completely green I had no clue how to turn my writing skills into money-
That was almost a year ago.
What I stumbled upon was someone's affiliate link to sign up for HubPages. That lucky person, I have no idea who that is, but that lucky person stands to make a lot of money from me eventually.
I can make money writing?
When I landed on HubPages I was pretty excited at the prospect of writing hubs, signing up for an adsense Account, and generating money. It seemed pretty easy to me (too easy actually). I wondered what the catch was. (The catch was it's not a get rich quick scheme, there is some work involved, but well worth the journey!)
I embarked on a new Journey of Sublime excitement and opportunity Writing the hubs at first was a little challenging but only because it was new. Eventually this became the easiest thing in the world and I wanted to learn how to use all the different bells and whistles on the site such as capsules- picture-capsules, text-capsules, video-capsules, and things like that.
At first I just wanted to know “how” to use this site to build some great pages… I figured I’d learn how to leverage them to make money later, but for now I wanted to make something cool, something that later would pad my wallet, and give me a certain outlet for my creativity!
It gets to the point were writing is more about your content than worrying about how to use all the different things on the site. The beauty of HubPages is its ease-of-use and its intuitive nature. At first your having so much fun and although you think the money is what’s motivating you, really, it’s the fun your having! They say just start building hubs, worry about the money later, get into the swing of the fun first!
Then I became a writer… but the burning question came back.. the reason I was here…
Show me the money!
“Ok, we’ve heard that people make 2,000.00 or more on this site, we’ve all read the introduction PDF file and yet here we sit almost a year later with 59.00 in our adsense account… feeling stupid thinking wow did we just get taken by marketing?”
No. Keep reading.
So what eludes him now, me in the first months on HubPages, and many of the other HubPage writers? How the hell do I make money on this site? Is this $2,000.00 earning potential just an occurrence?
No it's a put in some work occurrence.
Are we just padding the wallets of the big Hub in the sky? Our pennies earned are their hundred thousand dollars a month? What gives?
I want answers dammit!
Well this is what this site you're reading right now is all about. This is a free resource (and will ALWAYS be free). This site is designed to give you the answers, the tools, then eventually as people reading this site start producing said 2,000.00 a month incomes this site will give you the PROOF that it is possible, if you do it right. That one question prompted this sites very existence and I wanted to build a site that unequivocally answered the question so thoroughly that if someone didn't make money it was there fault and nobody else’s.
You have to ask yourself one very simple question that can make or break your earning success. Do you want to Entertain or Earn money? If you just want to entertain that’s a noble cause, HubPages is a great place to do that, but if you want to earn, you have to do something slightly different. Can you entertain and earn? Absolutely!. If you want to make money but also entertain a little, read on.
No more excuses.
I'm going to use the very hubs written by the many Hubbers on this site who have figured out different aspects of this money making engine/empire, to show you all the pieces of the puzzle, I'm going to spend time giving you my own insights and hub nuggets from my own HubPages, and hopefully in a few months you will start melting the concepts into your account through hubs and start seeing how it all works- When you apply all the pieces TOGETHER!
This site will be paid for through adsense ads, and HubPages Affiliate sign-ups so rest assured I will be more than motivated to continue to grow this site, add to it and bring you A LOT of great stuff. But this site will not be just my work, it will be a community of work. I have a saying “It takes a community to raise a HubPage author”.. well now I’m going to upgrade that saying to “It takes a community to raise a HubPages Author who makes $2k+ per month” *wink*
It’s a simple matter dear Watson.. Of putting all the pieces together… It’s… like a puzzle… I see so many people with one piece of the puzzle, or most people using the most obvious features they see others doing but the less obvious ones are the ones that MAKE THE HUB EARN MONEY! Most stop just shy of actually earning money. They pull back on promoting, building link backs, using the internal plumbing of HubPages and more…I see the answers scattered all over HubPages in nuggets but none of the pieces are touching so nobody knows they fit together! This site will attempt to magnetize those pieces together, throw them into an order and show you using ACTUAL HUBBERS words how to boost your hub earning powers.
I’m going to try an experiment so bear with me. This will include me giving you the formula step by step, but using the hubs written to explain the details. The site will have two dimensions. One where you can simply surf away at different sections learning at your own leisure. The second dimension will be that one.. the format (of course I’ll need some time to build this page so this one page is all that exists at the moment) but let’s get back to the explanation/introduction to this site.
Many build hubs don’t monetize them fully, don’t build them to SEO compliance, barely utilize the tag tools, and although they get plenty of cool comments, they don’t make any money..
and after a few moments nobody ever reads them again…
Instead of fixing these hubs up, Hubbers build MORE useless hubs (useless in the financial earning power sense, although quite good content hubs!) I'm guilty of this myself for over 10 months! I have hubs that just need Promotion, keyword saturation (SEO) and are ready to earn me ALOT more money than they have! And rest assured throughout this project they WILL.
The point for my making this site is to show people how to turn their hub pages account into a $2000 a month passive income generating engine.

If you come here thinking that there will be no work involved and that you will just push a button and money will start to flow or that you'll have only work for a little bit of time and the rest of the time the money will continue to flow like a pyramid scheme you're sadly mistaken because that will not happen. Get rich quick schemes don't work, at least not in the Infomercial sense… Let me explain…
First of all, this is not a get rich quick scheme but more of a stay rich longer program. HubPages does work. My motto is, if one person can do something then ANYONE can do it. You just have to figure out what Joe Blow over there did and do it too.
How about we learn to fish not to buy fish? I’m going to teach you how to cut down your stick, build your fishing pole, strip your bamboo Shute to generate your fishing wire, how to build your pole. I'm going to teach you how to fish… how to catch your bait, how to skin the fish and cook it in ten different ways, and how to use some of that fish as bait for round two. If you wanted just sit down and eat the fish I caught, skinned, and cooked, your sadly mistaken.. we make our own Hubs around here. I ehum- We, will show you how to do it in a way that you will always know how to make the pole even if you don't have the same materials, and so forth. We’re going to teach you to write a money making hub, that will continue to make you money with some simple promotion/backlinks and a few article submissions, for now don’t worry about that.. one step at a time.
The beauty of this program is its a training ground for a skill set that will make earning money in the future so easy that it will feel I like a get rich quick program but the difference is it won't be, because although making money will be easier, it will be only because you KNOW the skills!!
Put on your Hub-Poker Face Think of it like poker. At first learning how to read people how to read the cards and how to bluff your way through to winning some hands can be tricky but over time you become a skilled poker player, poker bluffer and play poker better. Making money quickly at Poker is something you do simply because your experienced and others are not, you know how to surpass obstacles quickly, which makes it seem like magic, but its not, its experience.
In this instance were going to learn to play Hub-Poker by “reading” other people’s tells… a tell is a sign that gives away someone’s secret, but here a tell is giving us the keys to the Hub-Ferrari, unlike poker people are more than happy to tell you their tells, the secrets to making money making hubs and so on.
The True Get Rich Quick Formula – Experienced Users Only! Realistically, get rich quick is a right reserved for experienced people whom have done there time, reached a level of adeptetude - in an area where they seem to have superhuman like powers, and seem to do it magically, but again its just that they have learned how to do fully aware. Trying to do a get rich quick concept un-earned is like trying to fly a helicopter after 2 hours (ever) of training on your own. You'll crash and burn every time.
So making money with HubPages is the same way… You go do your time, learning how to do things the right way using SEO (search engine optimization) strategies, and all that work will pay off because every hub you create after you become expert at it will be a money making engine. This entire site was going to be an eBook for sale, but I decided to give it away free! Making money with HubPages is not only Possible, relatively easy, Fun, and making 2,000.00 a month passive income eventually (well mostly passive) is very possible,
BUT it WONT happen overnight. Be patient with it, don't try to earn a million bucks tomorrow, even if you were able to it would be worthless because you'd never be able to easily duplicate it. One thing they neglected to mention in the PDF you get when you first sign up is that the one person who made 2,000 a month did it over time. Take the time to learn the skill set, to comfortably wrap your head around the realm of internet marketing (adsense revenue) to the point where you can flick your wrist, produce a hub that starts to generate mind boggling amounts of adsense revenue relatively easily. When I started my hubs were HORRIBLE I’m embarrassed at how horrible my writing was. It wasn’t that I was a bad writer, my insights were good, my writing was even good, but I lacked direction, focus. It was like watching a great movie through a dirty pair of glasses that weren’t my own (considering I wore glasses, roll the metaphor train with me a minute).
The HubPage authors helped me improve my writing and now I can whip up a quality hub in a few hours time that gets plenty of traffic.
Hub Boat Realize that with the right moves, the right hub layout, the right content, the HubPages site is like a big river with a built in “traffic current” and setting your Hub Boat down (publishing your newly constructed Hub Boat) could generate some quick buzz... but if you don't build your Hub Boat 100% right, it will probably sink before it whisks across that riverbed towards the bookmarking sites! The “traffic current” will slip through the holes and instead of carrying your hub into financial Island, it will stagnate making nothing but waves in the same piece of your Hub-Real-Estate.(don’t you love my metaphors?)
There Is a lot of money to be made in this kind of work if you lay your foundation correctly. If you have already started off on HubPages and you haven't seen money yet or have seen very little money trickle in, it's not too late but you will have to go back and re-learn your strategy re-apply your strategy.

Veteran Hubbers: I want to see you succeed so I think it would be best to play around with a new account with your current knowledge and your new found skill sets you will be learning as we go. What you can do is continue to build hubs in your old account if you like and just add new hubs to the new account too, but later you will have a way to gauge the differences between your old account (that didn’t pour in the money) and the new one (that I believe will).
Personally I will be using my new account "SamurWriter" in this way, and will continue to use my old HubPages account for my Journal entry hubs as I've always done. Once you’ve joined up under a new account please add me under SamurWriter (become a fan) and I’ll become your fan as well, then we can journey together *smiles*
New HubPage Authors: Until you become completely comfortable with hub pages, have started generating a decent amount of a passive income, and have your feet firmly planted a minimum of 30 or 40 hubs are high quality highly optimized for SEO or search engine optimization and your fan base is at 30 or higher with the hub score of at least 90, it would be a good idea not to spend too much time in the forum socializing. If all of this seems Greek to you at the moment don’t worry, this site will change all that in time. I have put together a HubCabulary (HubPages vocabulary) page to decode terms as a quick reference, you should print that page out if your new (under development always).
This is not to say that you cannot socialize, of course you can socialize, what I'm trying to tell you is to not get caught up in socializing to a point where you're not making any money, or spending all of your time talking about making money But Not Actually Doing It. Remember why you're here trust me on this. Once you start making money and your account becomes an example to others this would be a good time to go and start socializing sharing ideas and so forth. Because at this point you become a valued member of the HubPages forum and are not just talking the talk you will have walked the walk. It becomes entirely too easy to lose track if you're going into the forum every day socializing (only) so I would suggest at first you maintain a professional demeanor ask questions on topic and spend this time learning how to build up your HubPages so that you learn to make money. Use this site as much as you can to find your answers but if you can't find your answers here then go to the forum but don't get caught up socially until you start making some money. What will happen is you'll end up losing money in socializing too much. Your time is your currency right now, it is worth all the beans in Tokyo! In other words plant seeds let them start growing and then share your plants with others, understand? This way if someone knocks your ideas you can defend them with proof, if you start telling others your ideas in the forum and they knock it YOU MAY NEVER EVEN TRY THEM! I made this mistake! I also recouped and tried it anyway and found it worked regardless of what people “said”. If your a HubPages member already and aren't making money try spending less time socializing and more time tweaking your hubs up :^) The forum can be a fun place to hang out in fact a lot of people hang out in there and a lot of people have a lot of fun and enjoy the company of all the other Hubbers, but we need to hold off on that, at least the social aspect, until we have a product (money making HubPages account) to talk about to brag about and to share our success about. Of course it’s up to you, I’m not your mom, do what you want. I’m just offering friendly advice. This will make us more valuable to everybody in the forum, and remember the form is there to help Hubbers help each other to generate more money - which is why 90% of us are here. So stay focused, remember the goal, and let's get started.
